Washington, “The Evergreen State”, is a place of natural beauty with majestic mountain ranges and Pacific Ocean beaches. The state is also a place rich in arts, culture and heritage. There are numerous museums and galleries in which to spend time out of the frequent, though mostly, drizzly rain. Some of those are The Bellevue Art Museum, Center on Contemporary Arts, Frey Art Museum, Daybreak Star Cultural Center and The Henry Art Gallery.
Some other excellent points of interest are Lewis and Clark State Park and Cape Disappointment State Park, Mount Rainier and Mount St. Helens, an active volcano that erupted in 1980. The Puget Sound, The Space Needle, The Experience Music Project, and Pikes Market are excellent Seattle diversions, as well. For outside interests mountain climbing, hiking, biking, skiing, salmon fishing, crabbing, and boating are among the most popular recreational activities.
